About me

I teach swimming in a calm, thoughtful and personalised way, helping adults feel more confident, comfortable and at ease in the water.

A calmer way to learn and improve in the water.

For many years I have taught swimming to a wide range of swimmers, with a particular focus on helping adults who feel nervous, hesitant or lacking in confidence.

My teaching is shaped around the individual. Rather than rushing through drills or focusing only on swimming lengths, sessions are designed to help people feel calmer, more comfortable and more connected to what they are doing in the water.

What matters most to me is creating an environment where people feel safe to learn, supported to process and able to build confidence at their own pace.

My approach

My teaching draws on a more thoughtful, body-aware approach to swimming, with attention to ease, breathing, balance, coordination and confidence in the water.

Sessions are built around clear explanation, demonstrations, gently guidance where appropriate, and time to explore movement in a way that feels manageable and encouraging.

This means swimming is not treated simply as a skill to force or push through, but as something that can be learned with more ease, awareness and confidence.

Why I do this work

I know that for many adults, swimming can feel intimidating, frustrating or something they have put off for years. My aim is to make it feel more approachable, more manageable and more positive from the very beginning.

Whether someone is just starting out, returning to swimming, or looking to refine technique, I want sessions to feel clear, calm and genuinely enjoyable.
